Complementing the staff are volunteers who provide a valuable contribution to the various aspects of EMLC's work.
Volunteers have an opportunity to gain practical work experience in areas of administration , legal research, community development and outreach work.
Volunteering can bring many rewards other than financial.
Not only does the Law Centre get help with its work, but it also gives volunteers an opportunity to learn and develop new skills, gain experience of working in a busy office environment, develop personal and social skills, contributing to a personal sense of satisfaction.
One of the key elements in sustaining volunteers is providing an effective support service. We offer in house training in relation to the services that we provide and access to mainstream training opportunities. Whenever required they are given guidance on a one-to-one basis to enhance their personal development, since not all individuals have the same goals.
If you have any spare time and are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Ethnic Minorities Law Centre on (0141) 204 2888 or E-mail to: admin@emlc.org.uk
